Into the Fog

In Slavic folklore, the hedgehog is wise in the way a child is, a quiet seeker who can identify the raskovnik, a magical herb that unlocks doors and uncovers hidden treasures.

In the 1975 Soviet animated film Ёжик в тумане (Hedgehog in the Fog), the spiky seeker wanders with childlike wonder into the unknown, pondering the mist and mysteries of his peculiar existence.

This assortment of writings, sketches, paintings, and meanderings makes up something of my permanently-in-progress homage to Hedgehog the character and the symbol. My primary audience is my future self, who might find it interesting to see what I was curious about and whether I found anything along the way, or, at the very least, had some fun in the fog.
